
CV Nunes Primary has reaffirmed its reputation for academic excellence, emerging as one of Region Two’s top-performing schools in the 2025 National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA).
Six of its pupils ranked among the region’s highest scorers.
Leading the region is Kalissa Hampersaud of Huist Diren Primary School, who attained 487 marks. She is followed closely by Roshini Seecharan and Ziyad Mohamed of CV Nunes Primary, who both scored 486 marks. Other top scorers include Jayda Jemma Piya Lawrie of Better Hope Primary with 485 marks; Aiden Devindra Persaud of CV Nunes Primary, also with 485 marks; and Priyasha Amesha Subha, Aryan Nishant Chatelall, and Tyler Nash Samaroo, all of CV Nunes Primary, with 484 marks each. Aadilah Khan of Aurora Primary and Shivani Shreya Singh of Taymouth Manor Primary both earned 483 marks. All the high achievers have secured placements at Queen’s College and other top-tier secondary institutions.
Speaking to reporters, Aiden Devindra Persaud said he hopes to become an engineer and credited his success to family and school support: “I thank my parents and the dedicated teachers of CV Nunes Primary for their unwavering support.”
Priyasha Amesha Subha, who aspires to be a civil engineer, shared: “My success is due to late-night studies and determination.”
Tyler Nash Samaroo, the son of businessman Rakesh Samaroo, echoed similar ambitions: “I want to become an engineer,” he said, urging upcoming candidates to “remain focused and avoid distractions.”
Regional Education Officer Shondelle Hercules lauded the efforts of teachers and parents across Region Two, emphasising the Ministry of Education’s ongoing commitment to expanding quality educational access in the region.
