Some 65 entrepreneurs have been trained in bid document preparation as part of a business development initiative in Region Two aimed at boosting their competitiveness and market readiness.
The Small Business Bureau (SBB), working in collaboration with the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB) at the Essequibo Technical Institute, guided participants through key stages of the tendering process, including understanding bid documents, meeting compliance requirements and preparing competitive submissions.
A further 25 persons participated in Digital Readiness and Label Design sessions focused on branding, promotional materials and product presentation, equipping entrepreneurs with tools to develop professional marketing materials and market-ready product labels.
SBB Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Shazim Ibrahim said the initiative was designed to bring targeted support directly to regional entrepreneurs.
“Our responsibility is to ensure that small business owners, regardless of where they operate, have access to the knowledge and tools needed to compete and grow,” Ibrahim said.
He added: “By taking this support directly to Essequibo, we are helping businesses build stronger foundations and position themselves for sustainable growth.”
The training forms part of the Bureau’s broader effort to expand practical business development support across Guyana and aligns with the government’s agenda to support small enterprises through capacity building, expanded market access and inclusive regional development.
