2.1 Data provided directly by you

Personal data may additionally be disclosed where required by law, court order, or lawful request of a competent authority of Guyana.

10. Processing for Journalistic Purposes

As a news organization, certain of our activities involve the processing of personal data for journalistic purposes, including the reporting of news, the coverage of public events, and the scrutiny of matters of public interest. The Act affords recognition and protection to journalistic activity, and certain of the rights described in Section 9 may accordingly be limited where their exercise would be incompatible with freedom of expression and the public interest in news reporting.

Editorial decisions, including the publication of the names and images of individuals in the course of news coverage, are governed by our editorial standards and are outside the scope of this Privacy Policy.

11. Security of Personal Data

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to safeguard personal data, including secure hosting, encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and periodic security testing.
