Defending champion Avinash Persaud will lead a 36-member Lusignan Golf Club contingent to the 2026 DSB Suriname Invitational Golf Championship in Paramaribo this month.

The 14-time Guyana Open champion won the tournament’s overall title in 2025 and returns after also claiming the 2026 SBM Offshore Championship.

Lusignan’s delegation includes several other former winners, giving the club contenders across multiple divisions.

Patanjilee “Pur” Persaud will defend his B Flight title, which he won at last year’s tournament. He also claimed the inaugural National Top Flight Golf League championship in 2026.

Patrick Prashad, the 2024 DSB Suriname Invitational champion, heads into the competition after winning Tour No. 2 of this year’s National Top Flight Golf League.

Brian Hackett, who won the Suriname tournament’s B Flight in 2023, claimed Tour No. 1 of the local league this year.

Chet Bowling will look to improve on his second-place finish in the B Flight at the 2025 Suriname Invitational. His recent results include victories in Tour No. 3 of the National Top Flight Golf League and the inaugural President’s Cup.

Carlos Adams brings experience in several divisions, having finished third in the Senior Flight last year and third in the C Flight in 2022.

Multiple-time ladies champion Dr Joaan Deo is also part of the delegation, while Ian Gouveia returns to the tournament after several years away.

For the club’s less experienced entrants, the competition offers a chance to test their games against golfers from Suriname and other countries. The former champions will be seeking further titles as Lusignan contests the tournament’s various divisions.
