A digital platform is being developed to track house lot-showing requests from submission to completion, following allottee complaints of incorrect lots being shown and outdated plans.

Housing Minister Collin Croal and Minister within the Housing Ministry Vanessa Benn met the Ministry's Survey Unit on Monday to address concerns about the identification and showing of house lots. The meeting was also attended by Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA) Chief Executive Officer Dr Martin Pertab and other senior programme heads.

Croal highlighted complaints from allottees, including uncertainty over boundary lines and inadequate follow-up on reported issues.

Under the platform, survey teams will access assigned cases in the field and capture photographs and GPS coordinates to verify that allottees are shown the correct lots.
Croal said the system will be mandatory across the agency, creating a clear record of each lot showing and strengthening accountability. Initial testing of the lot-showing component is expected to begin shortly, with additional features to be introduced in phases.

He also stressed the need for greater diligence, proper record-keeping and a more systematic approach to field operations, including the logging and resolution of complaints.
