Trans Guyana lower fares to hinterland destinations

Trans Guyana Airways (TGA) has joined Roraima Airways and Jags Aviation in reducing airfares to hinterland destinations, following government efforts to rehabilitate and upgrade regional airstrips.

TGA said it will immediately implement a seven per cent reduction in fares to all hinterland airstrips that have completed full government rehabilitation, and will extend similar reductions to airstrips scheduled for future upgrades or newly classified sites.
The airline also recommended that the Aircraft Operators’ Association of Guyana (AOAG) meet with the government to explore long-term measures for providing Amerindian communities with access to domestic air travel at reduced costs.

TGA highlighted that it is currently the only ISSA-certified operator in Guyana under the IATA Standard Safety Assessment Programme. The airline operates a 19-seat Beechcraft 1900D to Lethem, offering pressurised cabins for comfort and safety, and also provides executive, domestic, and regional charter services.
The carrier said it looks forward to extending Beechcraft services to additional hinterland population centres as government airstrip upgrades allow, which it said will improve service quality and contribute to further reductions in airfare costs.
