Region One takes athletics title at Amerindian Heritage Championships

Region One showcased their dominance on day two of the Amerindian Heritage Sports Championships at the Everest Sports Club on Thursday.
They amassed an impressive 575 points to claim the track and field title with ease. Region Three followed in a distant second with 263 points, while Region Nine finished third with 89 points. Regions Six and Two rounded out the top five with 61 and 51 points, respectively.
Among the standout performances was Russell Skinner, who secured gold in the male 30-and-over javelin throw. Alistair Peneux of Region Six earned the silver medal, while Leron Allicock of Region Three took bronze.
Region One also swept the 4×100 metres relay, winning both the male and female events. In total, they dominated the championships by winning 32 of the 40 events contested.
