The National Insurance Scheme (NIS) has expanded its WhatsApp-based Life Certificate service to meet growing demand from the country’s pension population.
The service, first introduced with six numbers, will now operate through 20 dedicated WhatsApp contacts, allowing pensioners at home and overseas to complete their life certificates through a video call with an NIS agent, the agency said in a release.
The upgrade is intended to reduce waiting times and speed up the processing of pension payments, while cutting the need for in-person visits.
Pensioners using the service must present a valid form of identification and a blank life certificate during the video call, NIS said.
The expanded list of WhatsApp numbers ranges from +592 751 6401 to +592 751 6420.
