The University of Guyana (UG) has received 50 exhibition tickets and 20 complimentary delegate passes for students and lecturers to attend the Guyana Energy Conference & Supply Chain Expo from 18–21 February 2025.

Chief Executive Officer of the Guyana Energy Conference, Kiana Wilburg, handed over the tickets and passes to UG Vice-Chancellor, Professor Paloma Mohamed Martin, at the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, Turkeyen Campus, last Wednesday, a release said.

Chairman of the Guyana Energy Conference, Anthony J. Whyte, highlighted the importance of this initiative, emphasising that the next generation must be given a front-row seat to Guyana’s development and key industry players.

“I believe it is our duty to ensure our youths have a place at this event—not only to learn as much as they can about Guyana’s oil and gas industry but also to interact with some of the world’s leading conglomerates across 26 industries. These engagements can significantly help them understand potential career paths,” Whyte said.

He added: “I look forward to welcoming the UG cohort to what will be the largest and most dynamic conference in our history. May they seize the learning opportunities that await them from 18–21 February 2025.”

Vice-Chancellor Mohamed Martin expressed appreciation to the Guyana Energy Conference for the tickets and passes, noting that students and lecturers are eager to participate in the event.

The Guyana Energy Conference team thanked the University of Guyana in advance for its participation, the release noted.
