Morvin George, a 41-year-old pork knocker, died at 14 Miles, Arakaka, on Tuesday after an argument with his 26-year-old nephew escalated into a confrontation, police said.

The nephew is in custody as investigations into the alleged murder continue.

Police said the incident occurred at about 8:40am in the North West District. Preliminary investigations found that George sustained injuries about his body during the confrontation and became motionless.

The nephew was apprehended and taken into custody.

A doctor on duty examined George at the scene and pronounced him dead. His body was taken to the Matthew's Ridge Hospital Mortuary, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.

A cutlass and a piece of wood were recovered from the scene and lodged as evidence.
