Seventeen-year-old Dinesh Persaud of Lot 77, Suddie Housing Scheme is already looking toward a future shaped by his fascination with mechanics, machinery and the determination to keep learning.
He recently completed the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations, where he attained 12 Ones from 12 subjects; an accomplishment that has left him feeling both proud and pleased with his performance.
Dinesh, who attended the Anna Regina Secondary School, says his results reflect the discipline and commitment he developed throughout his secondary school years.
He pointed to the late nights spent studying, sacrificing his social life and learning how to use his time wisely as part of the strategy that kept him focused on his goals.
Dinesh added that behind his determination is also a strong source of encouragement—his family.
He says his family has been his biggest motivation, providing him with the support and encouragement needed to keep pushing forward even when the journey became challenging.
Now, with his sights firmly set on becoming a mechanical engineer, Dinesh is eager to take his education further.
He says he is driven by the desire to understand more about the world of mechanics and machinery and to gain the knowledge and skills needed to turn that interest into a meaningful career.
One important lesson he says he will be taking to the field is that success requires discipline, patience and the willingness to put in the work when no one is watching.
As he looks ahead to the next chapter of his life, Dinesh remains grateful to those who helped him along the way.
