Patrick Prashad fired a gross 68 to win Round 6 of the National Top Flight Golf League (NTFGL) Tour 2 at the Lusignan Golf Course on Sunday, moving into third place overall as the championship race tightened heading into the final rounds.
The round, sponsored by Promotech Guyana Inc. and Danny’s Auto Sales, was played on a course that had returned to excellent condition following the wet season.

Prashad was particularly strong on the back nine, carding a net 32 to complete a 10-point haul for the round and move to 16 points overall, two behind championship leader Anand Persaud.
Patanjilee Persaud also impressed, recording a net 35 on the front nine to edge Bala Vijimoor on the tiebreaker for front-nine honours. He finished with a net 69 to claim second overall on the day, taking his tally to seven points for the round and strengthening his position in the standings.
Vijimoor, who narrowly missed out on the front-nine honours, finished with a net 71 for third place and three points, while Mike Mangal took fourth with a net 73 for two points. Videsh Persaud claimed the final championship point with a fifth-place finish.
Anand Persaud continued to lead the Tour 2 standings with 18 points, followed by Maxim Mangra with 17, Prashad with 16 and Joseph Szeplaki with 14, leaving only four points separating the top four players.
The leading quartet are expected to tee off together in Round 7, scheduled for this Sunday, at the Lusignan Golf Course.
