
Spice Route Restaurant & Bar officially opened on Thursday evening at Lot 165 Crown Street, Queenstown, Georgetown, introducing authentic Indian cuisine and bold flavours to the Guyanese culinary landscape.
Speaking at the opening, Indian entrepreneur and proprietor of Spice Route, Manoj Venkatesan, expressed enthusiasm about bringing authentic Indian flavours and hospitality to Guyana. He said the restaurant aims to offer a memorable dining experience through traditional dishes infused with rich spices and cultural influences from India.
Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce Susan Rodrigues also addressed the gathering, welcoming the investment and commending the establishment for adding diversity to Guyana’s growing hospitality sector. She said she hopes to see a fusion of Eastern and Western culinary flavours reflected in the restaurant’s offerings.
Guests were later treated to a variety of Indian dishes prepared for the occasion, offering a first-hand experience of the menu and culinary style.
Among those in attendance were Senior Minister in the Office of the President with responsibility for Finance, Dr Ashni Singh, Bank of Baroda Guyana Manager Inderjeet Singh, along with other government officials, members of the diplomatic corps and representatives of the business community.
