
Raudel Valverde and Yenifer María Quevedo Millán were granted bail on Friday when they appeared before Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on trafficking-related charges.
The two Cuban nationals were recently arrested and charged under the Trafficking in Persons Act.
Valverde is charged with unlawful withholding of documents and recruiting by force or coercion for the purpose of exploitation, while Quevedo Millán is charged with harbouring for the purpose of exploitation.
Valverde was granted bail of $150,000 for unlawful withholding of documents and $750,000 for trafficking in persons (recruitment). Quevedo Millán was granted bail of $750,000 for trafficking in persons (harbouring).
As part of their bail conditions, both are required to report every Friday to the Trafficking in Persons Unit at CID Headquarters.
The matter was adjourned to June 19, 2026.
