Dozens counting losses as freak storm destroys homes at Lima

A sudden and powerful storm struck the Lima Housing Scheme around 8:00 am today, bringing heavy rain, thunder, and fierce winds that destroyed seven houses and left at least 30 people homeless.

The unexpected weather event caused significant damage to homes and properties, prompting an immediate response from the Region Two Regional Democratic Council (RDC).

Regional Chairman Devin Mohan, Regional Vice Chairman, Deputy Regional Executive Officer, and other officials are on the ground working alongside residents to assess the damage and coordinate urgent relief efforts.

In a statement, the Regional Administration expressed solidarity with the affected families and reaffirmed its commitment to providing swift assistance and support during this difficult time.
