Matthew Vieira is gearing up for a tough battle against the international riders set to compete in Guyana’s annual Caribbean Clash of Champions, which will be held at the South Dakota Circuit on Sunday.
Speaking at a recent press conference, Vieira—one of Guyana’s leading bikers—said he is ready to put up a strong challenge against the visiting riders who have already arrived for the event.
“We’re going to push hard and definitely try to close the gap between these two guys. It’s an honour to race alongside them, and to have my name mentioned next to theirs in an international article is incredible for a rider from a small country like Guyana,” Vieira expressed.
Meanwhile, two-time FIM Endurance World Champion (2020 and 2021) Gregg Black said he is thrilled to be part of the event.
“It’s nice to be here in Guyana. My teammate Dan Linford showed me some videos of the circuit, and it looked really interesting. I thought it would be great to come over during the season, and with the support of all the sponsors, it’s fantastic to finally have this experience,” Black shared.
Linford, who also takes to the track on Sunday, currently holds the South Dakota Circuit lap record—a benchmark that both Black and Vieira are eager to challenge when the engines roar to life on race day.
