Leonora Primary and St. John the Baptist Primary have secured their spots in the final of the Courts Optical Boys’ Under-11 Pee-Wee Championship after a thrilling day of semi-final matches at the Ministry of Education Ground over the weekend.
In the first semi-final, St. John the Baptist Primary, hailing from Bartica, triumphed over Redeemer Primary with a 2-0 victory. Alex Pearson opened the scoring in the 17th minute, followed by Aaron Christian, who sealed the win with a goal in the 35th minute.
The second semi-final saw Leonora Primary narrowly defeat former champions West Ruimveldt Primary 1-0. The decisive moment came in the 33rd minute when Chrison Austin found the back of the net, propelling Leonora to the final.
The final will be played on November 1 at the Ministry of Education Ground.
