Blubird, a U.S.-based company specialising in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and tech education, has entered a strategic partnership with the World Trade Centre Georgetown, marking a new phase of collaboration aimed at driving innovation, technology adoption, and business development in Guyana.
The announcement came during one of the opening events for World Trade Centre activities, where Blubird outlined its vision for supporting local businesses and education.
Wayne Marcel, leader of Blubird, expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting its focus on innovation. “We’re excited about the opportunity here and this partnership, because what we really want to do is bring innovation. So many people we’ve talked to, and I even talked to before coming here, said that the goal is not to just simply slightly modernise current systems. It’s to become a hub of innovation,” he said.
He also emphasised that the initiative will prioritise education and knowledge sharing for students and anyone interested in learning. “What we want to do is not only to do business in Guyana and help existing businesses, but also bring a level of education for students and really anyone else that’s looking to learn as well too, to give you the know how to leverage this existing technology that you can see clearly when you look at certain regions and countries that have already adopted innovative technology and where they stand now, and those that haven’t. And you have a huge opportunity here, and so we’re just excited to be a part of that,” he stated.
The partnership is expected to open doors for greater collaboration between Blubird and the World Trade Centre, with activities designed to enhance operational efficiencies, provide training, and strengthen long-term growth across Guyana’s business community.
Organisers said the partnership highlights the growing focus on innovation and technology in the country, offering local businesses and students opportunities to learn from global best practices and apply them locally.
