Guyana hosted the Caribbean’s premier sport leadership summit as the Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees (CANOC) held its XIII Annual Workshop and XXIII General Assembly at the Pegasus Suites and Corporate Centre over the weekend.
Culture, Youth and Sport Minister, Charles Ramson Jr., welcomed attendees and emphasised the importance of regional collaboration. He praised CANOC’s mission to enhance governance and capacity, describing the summit as a “significant opportunity” for nations to share expertise and fast-track common development goals.
The summit followed a preparatory Olympic Solidarity Financial Management Workshop aimed at strengthening financial transparency and accountability among Caribbean National Olympic Committees.
The CANOC Annual General Assembly on Sunday further defined the organisation’s strategy for the upcoming Olympic cycle, setting a clear direction for the future of Caribbean sport.
