
Hand-in-Hand Mutual Fire and Life Insurance Companies has opened a new branch at Hotel Amazonas in Lethem, expanding its network to 19 offices nationwide and bringing insurance services to the Rupununi region.
The launch ceremony on Friday was attended by community members, company officials, and local leaders. Human Resources Manager Zaida Joaquin delivered opening remarks, and Marketing Manager Savita Singh outlined the company’s insurance products, emphasising competitive rates and customer service for Lethem residents.
Mayor John Macedo commended Hand-in-Hand for its long-standing service and commitment to local development. The programme included prayers by Legal and Compliance Officer Paul Braam, a poetry reading by award-winning writer Brandon Singh, and a cultural performance by the Rupununi Wildfire Dance Group.
Other company staff present included Accountant Krishundatt Ayoganand, Maintenance Technician Winston George, Sales Representative Rushell Hackett, and Lethem branch representatives Joshua Dublin and Luke Phillips.
Hand-in-Hand, Guyana’s longest-established and AM Best-rated insurer, is celebrating 160 years of service, with the Lethem branch opening forming part of its anniversary expansion efforts. Residents are encouraged to visit the new branch for tailored insurance solutions.
