Police investigate loaded firearm discharge in Albouystown

The Guyana Police Force is probing an incident involving the discharging of a loaded firearm on Tuesday night at around 21:40 hours along Cooper and Non Pariel Streets, Independence Boulevard.

Reports indicate that a 28-year-old plumber was at home with his child when he heard multiple explosions, believed to be gunshots.

Upon investigating, he discovered that his vehicle parked outside sustained damage consistent with gunfire.

Police, including senior officers and members of the Crime Scene Unit, responded promptly.

Several spent shell casings were recovered, and CCTV footage in the area will be reviewed. Witnesses were interviewed, and efforts are ongoing to locate the suspect.

No injuries were reported. The investigation remains active, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
