Smith Advances to women’s 200m final at Junior Pan American Games

Guyana’s Keliza Smith has advanced to the women’s 200m final at the Junior Pan American Games in Paraguay after winning her semifinal heat with a personal best of 23.08 seconds on Wednesday evening.
Smith finished ahead of Canada’s Emily Martin and Colombia’s Marletth Ospino, and will now compete in the final scheduled for later today.
Meanwhile, in the men’s 400m final, Malachi Austin placed seventh with a time of 46.67 seconds. Jamaica’s Jasauna Dennis won gold in 45.56 seconds, followed by Trinidad and Tobago’s Jaden Marchan with silver and Brazil’s Vinicius Galeno with bronze.
In the men’s 200m semifinal, Shamar Horatio did not advance after finishing sixth in his heat with a time of 21.35 seconds.
