Linden pensioner dies in suspected hit-and-run accident

Randolph Braithwaite, 72, a resident of Linden, was found dead early Saturday morning in what police believe to be a fatal hit-and-run accident.

Braithwaite, of Lot 1369 Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden, was discovered lying on the southern parapet of the 3rd Corner of the Amelia’s Ward Access Road, with visible lacerations about his body, suspected to be consistent with injuries sustained in a motor vehicle collision.

Ranks from the Guyana Police Force transported Braithwaite to the Linden Hospital Complex, where he was pronounced dead on arrival by Dr Joseph. His body was subsequently taken to Jetsco Funeral Home for cold storage, pending a post-mortem examination.

A full investigation has been launched, and police are pursuing all available leads.
