Pillion rider in Corentyne accident succumbs

Adrian Inshan, the pillion rider, in tragic accident this morning on the Corentyne Public Road has also succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical attention at the New Amsterdam Hospital.

Krishan Ramnauth and Amber Subhan had earlier died in the accident that involved a collision of two motorcycles.

One was owned and driven by 18-year-old Keishan Ramnauth, a labourer from Lot 115, No. 60 Village, Corentyne, Berbice.

The other was owned and driven by 21-year-old Ameer Subhan, a supervisor with Queensway Security Service, residing at Lot 122 ‘B’ Line Path, Corentyne, Berbice.

According to police reports, Subhan was travelling south along the eastern drive lane at a high rate of speed when Ramnauth, who was heading north on the western drive lane, lost control of his motorcycle.

The two motorcycles collided, causing both riders and Inshan to be thrown onto the road surface, sustaining serious injuries.

Public-spirited citizens rushed to the scene and transported the injured to the Skeldon Public Hospital.

A doctor on duty pronounced both motorcyclists, Subhan and Ramnauth, dead at the hospital.

Inshan, the pillion rider, was later transferred to the New Amsterdam Hospital, where he was declared deceased.

Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing
