The Guyana Amazon Warriors will enter the home leg of the 2026 Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) filled with confidence after recording four consecutive victories on the road.

The Warriors, the tournament’s only unbeaten team, will look to extend their impressive start when they face the Jamaica Kingsmen today at the National Stadium, Providence.

Guyanese batsman Quentin Sampson said returning home with an unblemished record had created a positive atmosphere within the squad.

“It’s always a pleasure to come home after starting your campaign on a high note. We’re four out of four, so it’s a good feeling coming home without losing a game. It’s a great start for us,” Sampson said.

The Warriors will play five matches on home soil, and Sampson expects the passionate support at Providence to provide the team with additional motivation.

“We’ve been doing well as a team so far. With the crowd backing us, it gives us an additional driving force to go harder at the game,” he added.

Sampson said confidence within the squad was high, with both the batting and bowling departments contributing to the team’s early success.

“The boys are pretty much pumped. Being home, things should be even better because we have the home crowd and the advantage. I think we’re up for the challenge,” he said.

The Warriors will also be seeking to secure enough points during the home leg to place themselves in a strong position for the playoffs before travelling to Barbados for the closing stages of the preliminary round.

“Before we leave home, we want to secure those points so we don’t have to do the hard work at the back end to catch up,” Sampson explained.

Today’s encounter between the Amazon Warriors and Jamaica Kingsmen is scheduled to bowl off at 7pm.
