Santa Rosa, Moruca delegate Reah Henry has been crowned Miss Region One Amerindian Heritage 2026 following a competitive pageant that brought together six young women representing communities across Region One.
The pageant, which concluded in the early hours of Sunday, saw delegates competing across six segments for the coveted regional title.
Henry emerged as the overall winner, while Rafeza Mohamed of Barimanabo was named First Runner-Up. Rose Conyers of White Water secured the Second Runner-Up position, while Shania Dan of Santa Jose, Santa Rosa, Moruca was named Third Runner-Up.
The competition also saw delegates taking home several special awards.
Alana Edwards, representing Baramita, captured the Indigenous Challenge – Cassava Processing and Miss Congeniality titles. Mohamed won Best Introduction and Best Traditional Wear, while Conyers was awarded Best Talent.
Dan secured the People’s Choice Award, in addition to winning the Swimwear and Evening Wear segments.
The other delegates were Celena Callisto of Mabaruma Settlement and Edwards of Baramita.
The event attracted a number of regional and national officials, including Minister of Housing and Parliamentary Representative for Region One, Collin Croal; Regional Chairman Brentnol Ashley; Vice Chairman Paul Pierre; Mayor Trevy Leung; and Deputy Mayor Leon Persaud
The two delegates who did not advance to the final four—Edwards and Callisto—were each presented with a laptop, bouquet and $75,000 in recognition of their participation.
In total, the six contestants shared more than $3M in cash and prizes throughout the competition.
