The Ravens Basketball Club wrapped up an impressive campaign at the Kreyol Basketball Festival with a hard-fought 87–73 loss to GCB of Guadeloupe in the Northern Division championship on Monday night.
After dominant wins over Dominica’s DTread Blazers and USR Basketball Club, the Guyanese side advanced to the final, where they held an eight-point halftime lead before GCB mounted a strong second-half comeback.
Point guard Shamaar Huntley led the Ravens with 23 points before briefly exiting due to injury. He returned to help close a third-quarter gap, but GCB capitalised on defensive lapses and foul trouble to secure the win with a decisive fourth-quarter run.
Despite the loss, Coach Marlon Rodrigues praised his team’s effort and professionalism. With a 2–1 record and a strong tournament showing, the Ravens remain in contention for a spot in the prestigious ‘King of Kings Tournament’ in Guadeloupe this August.
