The Need for Speed Karting Championship moves to the South Dakota Circuit in Timehri on November 14 and 15 for the second of three rounds, with more than G$16 million in cash and prizes on offer across the championship, according to organisers Jumbo Jet Events.
Drivers began practising on Wednesday after work on the round-two track layout was completed. Organisers said several competitors had already taken to the circuit to find their racing lines. They said the layout was opened early to give drivers more practice time before race weekend.
The weekend will feature Briggs & Stratton racing in the Light, Heavy, Junior, Rookie Over-35, Women’s and Cadet classes, as well as competition for veteran drivers. The programme also includes the Honda GX200 four-stroke and 125cc IAME karting classes, along with senior and junior Supermoto races.
Round two follows the June opener at Thomas Lands. The championship finale is scheduled for December 20.
Organisers said there will be giveaways for spectators and competitors over the weekend. Ticket prices, gate times and spectator guidelines are expected to be announced in the coming days.
