For The Balance owner Donella Long, providing hospitality services is about more than staffing events. It is about delivering professional care when clients need it most.

Since beginning operations in 2018, the business has provided staffing solutions for corporate functions and social gatherings. Its services include bartenders, waiting staff, cleaners and brand ambassadors, alongside equipment rentals.

"Basically, it's the staffing solution for both corporate and social events. We also provide rental equipment, glassware, cutlery, portable bar, ice schoolers, etcetera. One of the things we strive for at The Balance is excellence with our customer service standard," Long told Ignite News.

Long now hopes to build on that growth and is using the recently concluded Women in Business Expo to reach potential customers. The event, hosted by fashion designer and entrepreneur Sonia Noel, holds particular significance for her, as an earlier edition eight years ago was where the business first launched, an experience she credits with helping it gain momentum.

Long said that maintaining a visible presence is essential for businesses seeking to stay competitive and attract new clients.

"Visibility is the oxygen for our business... continuous visibility," she said.

Beyond visibility, The Balance is also building its reputation through customer service. Long said she routinely asks clients to assess the team's performance after events, describing feedback as important to business growth.

She recalled one instance in which a client offered feedback without being asked.

"One amazing thing that recently happened is that a client gave me a feedback that I didn't even ask for because it was a wake. And you know, when people die, it's a bit sensitive. So I was going to give them some space before asking for the feedback. But when they give the feedback before I ask, I knew the service was excellent," she said.
