Persons allocated land at Bartica’s South Extension housing development will begin identifying their lots on November 12, with access expected from mid-November, Housing Minister Collin Croal has announced.
Surveyors from the Central Housing and Planning Authority will contact allottees in batches and take them to their individual plots to show them the boundaries.
The exercise will allow beneficiaries to locate the land allocated to them as development of housing areas in Region Seven continues.
At the nearby Tract Bar development, however, further infrastructure work is needed before a similar exercise can begin.
Croal said works there are approximately 60 per cent complete, with contractors aiming to facilitate access for allottees by November 30.
Contractors are working across two construction lots to complete concrete drains, install pipes and develop the road network.
The Minister also identified truck traffic through the housing scheme as an issue requiring attention. Trucks are currently using the development to travel to and from a quarry, a route he said is unsuitable given the ongoing construction.
The Housing Ministry plans to meet truck operators and the council in the coming week to agree on a more suitable route.
