A 19-year-old man from Campbellville, Georgetown, was shot in the foot and robbed of two yellow metal chains valued at $1.6 million by a gunman on Owen Street, Kitty, on Monday night.
Police said the robbery under arms occurred about 7:45pm on October 5.
Preliminary investigations indicate the victim was with several people on the roadway when two unidentified men arrived on an XR motorcycle. The pillion rider, armed with a handgun, dismounted and ordered the group not to move.
The victim ran, and the gunman fired several rounds, one of which hit him in the left foot. He fell, and the suspect took the chains before rejoining the rider and fleeing.
The victim was admitted to a private medical facility in stable condition.
Police said CCTV cameras were seen in the area and the footage will be reviewed. No arrests have been made.
