A 29-year-old Guyanese-born man was fatally stabbed in New York City in an attack that has left his family and friends mourning.

According to reports from the New York Daily News, Sulimon Ferrier was near his home on Jamaica Avenue in Jamaica, Queens, shortly before 1 a.m. on Saturday when an argument broke out between him and another man.

Police said the suspect pulled a weapon and repeatedly stabbed Ferrier in the chest before fleeing the scene.

Ferrier’s mother, Cynthia Ferrier Timmers, reportedly heard the commotion and rushed outside, where she found her son seriously wounded. She attempted to stop the bleeding as he lay in her arms.

“He said, ‘Mom, I love you! I love you!’” Timmers recalled, describing the heartbreaking moments before her son died.

Ferrier was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. He was reportedly the father of four children, with his oldest being just 10 years old.

Family friends described Ferrier as a quiet and protective person who was always willing to look out for those around him.

Police said the suspect fled the area and, as of Saturday, no arrests had been made. Authorities are continuing their investigation.

Ferrier’s killing was reportedly the latest in a series of stabbing incidents in Queens within the same week.

His death has sparked grief among relatives and friends, who are calling for justice and urging anyone with information to assist investigators.
