More than 3,700 students are set to cross the stage at the University of Guyana this November, as the institution marks its 60th annual graduation ceremonies.
The graduating class will be spread across six ceremonies at the university's Turkeyen and Berbice campuses, beginning November 17 and ending with the Institute of Distance and Continuing Education's Extra-Mural Programme graduation on November 28.
At Turkeyen, graduands will gather at the Sattaur and Ameena Gafoor Multipurpose Auditorium for four ceremonies over two days.
The first two will be held on November 17, with Engineering and Technology and the School of Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation graduating in the morning, followed by Natural Sciences, Medical Sciences, Earth and Environmental Sciences, and Agriculture and Forestry in the afternoon.
Education and Humanities will graduate on the morning of November 18. The final Turkeyen ceremony that afternoon will bring together graduands from Social Sciences and several other university institutions, including the Institute of Distance and Continuing Education and the College of Behavioural Sciences and Research.
The celebrations will then move to Berbice, where the University of Guyana Berbice Campus will hold its graduation on November 20 at Tain Settlement.
The final ceremony will take place on November 28 for graduates of the Extra-Mural Programme. The university has not yet announced a start time for that event.
For students preparing to graduate, the university is directing them to their Student Records Management System accounts for information about their participation.
The university's convocation webpage and WhatsApp channel will also carry updates, while members of the public will be able to follow the ceremonies through the University of Guyana's Facebook page and Broadcasting Service.
The latest graduating class adds to more than 73,000 people the university says it has produced since its establishment 63 years ago, with its alumni now working in Guyana and overseas
