Senior teachers from across Guyana sat the Ministry of Education’s Education Management Certificate Course examination, as they work towards strengthening their leadership and management skills within the education system.

Administered by the Ministry through the National Centre for Educational Resource Development (NCERD), the examination is the final professional assessment for educators completing the specialised two-year Education Management Certificate Course.

The programme is designed for senior teachers, Heads of Department and aspiring or current head teachers at the nursery, primary and secondary levels.

The training equips educators with skills in school leadership, administration and management, preparing them to take on greater responsibilities and leadership roles within the education system.

Successful candidates will qualify for an additional salary allowance and receive eight points towards their promotion.

The programme forms part of the Ministry of Education’s continued investment in professional development and strengthening leadership capacity across schools.
