Registration is now open for students in Grades 1–11 to access the expanded Guyana Digital School (GDS) learning platform, providing students with free digital educational content to support classroom learning and strengthen academic performance.
The initiative comes ahead of the reopening of the new school year which is set for tomorrow Monday, and ahead of the upcoming launch of Education Month set for the following day, Tuesday September 1.
The learning platform features educational content aligned with national curriculum guides and regional syllabuses, allowing students here and within the Caribbean to reinforce concepts taught in school, practice lessons and learn at their own pace.
The expanded access to the digital schools learning platform will be officially launched on September 9.
Two additional online programmes are also set to be introduced this month as part of the Education Month activities.
The Digital School’s Driver’s Education Programme will be launched on September 11, allowing particularly Grade 11 students to access information and develop knowledge related to road safety and responsible driving.
On September 14, the National Education Leadership Academy (NELA) will be launched. The programme is expected to provide an online space for educators to share knowledge, experiences and approaches while strengthening professional learning and collaboration.
Under the theme, “From Classroom to Communities, Education transforms lives”, Education Month 2026 will host among a number of activities including sporting events, competitions and award ceremonies.
