The Lusignan Golf Club will host its Greensome Golf Tournament at the Lusignan Golf Course on Sunday, featuring pairs competing in a Better Ball Medal Play format over nine holes.
Play gets underway at 9am with a shotgun start. Each player must register with a partner, and both golfers on a team must tee off on every hole before selecting the better-placed ball to continue play. Both players then take turns playing that ball until it is holed, with the total shots taken recorded as the team’s score.
A minimum of three tee shots from each player must be used during the round, organisers said.
The top five pairs by net score will receive prizes, with additional novelty prizes on offer for Longest Drive on Hole No. 5 and Nearest to the Flag on Hole No. 4.
Handicaps will be calculated by taking 35 per cent of the lower handicap and 15 per cent of the higher handicap, adding the two figures and dividing the total by two to determine each pair’s final handicap.
Entry costs $3,000 per player, with a BBQ lunch available afterwards for $2,500. Registration closes at 5pm on Saturday, August 29, 2026.
The event is open to the public and will include side attractions such as a bouncy castle and face painting.
