A 26-year-old Alness Village man died on Tuesday morning after the car he was driving collided with a motor lorry on Nigg Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice.
The deceased has been identified as Joshua Crawford, of Lot 21 Alness Village, Corentyne.
Police said the accident occurred at about 5:11am and involved motor car PZZ 5030, driven by Crawford, and motor lorry GAF 3405, driven by a 29-year-old man.

Crawford sustained injuries and was removed from the mangled vehicle unconscious by public-spirited citizens.
He was taken to the Port Mourant Public Hospital, where he was examined before being transferred to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A breathalyser test administered to the lorry driver recorded readings of 16 and 13 micrograms.
