More than 1,000 house lots and 700 Agreements of Sale were distributed as the International Building Expo 2026 concluded after attracting more than 50,000 visitors over four days, the Ministry of Housing said.

Held at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence, the expo brought together more than 350 exhibitors, financial institutions, government agencies, contractors and suppliers, giving Guyanese the opportunity to compare products, explore financing options, attend technical seminars and access housing services in one location.

Minister of Housing Collin Croal said the turnout reflected growing public interest in homeownership and development.

“We’ve had at least over 50,000 persons passing through. At the Ministry of Housing tent, we’ve made available over 2,100 Certificates of Title, with more than 50 per cent of those already collected,” Croal said during a wrap-up briefing.

As part of the ministry’s three-day Dream Realised initiative, the Certificates of Title were made available to residents of Plantation Vriesland, Laurentia Catherina, Plantation Leonora West, Good Hope and Plantation Lusignan.

The ministry also allocated just over 1,000 house lots on the East Coast of Demerara, facilitated the signing of Agreements of Sale for allottees at Vive La Force and De Kinderen, West Coast Demerara, and distributed more than 70 steel and cement subsidy vouchers, valued at more than $17 million, to beneficiaries in Region Three.

Croal said bringing these services to the expo made it easier for citizens to complete their housing transactions.

Beyond housing services, the expo featured six model homes, a small business village, equipment displays and more than 15 technical seminars covering sustainable urban planning, climate resilience, smart technologies and housing finance.

Croal praised the collective efforts of government agencies, volunteers, corporate sponsors, exhibitors and media organisations for contributing to the event’s success.

“I want to thank everyone who played their part in making the International Building Expo 2026 a success,” he said.
