Twenty-five Guyanese women from across the country have been recognised for their leadership and contributions to national development at the Seventh Annual 25 Influential Women Leaders Award Gala and Dinner held at the Guyana Marriott Hotel Georgetown.
The 2026 cohort included women from hinterland communities and national institutions, honoured for work spanning medicine, law, education, conservation, entrepreneurship, community development and the arts.
Co-founders Lyndell Danzie-Black and Michelle A. Nicholas presented the awards alongside diplomats, marking more than 175 women recognised over the past seven years through the initiative.
United States Ambassador to Guyana Nicole D. Theriot said women’s empowerment drives lasting change, noting that many honourees are alumni of U.S. Embassy programmes.
“When women lead, communities thrive. When women succeed, they lift entire generations. When women are empowered, they create lasting change,” she said.
ExxonMobil Guyana was represented by attorney Oneka Archer-Caulder, who praised the initiative for identifying national needs and responding with vision.
Danzie-Black said the future belongs to women who build trust, lead through change and create communities where others can thrive, while Nicholas added that leadership is reflected in everyday acts of service and support.
The platform, created by The NICO Consulting and Cerulean Inc., has recognised women leaders from all ten administrative regions of Guyana.
