The United States has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Guyana as it advances the development of its rapidly expanding energy sector.
Deputy Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Commercial Service Bradley McKinney underscored that the U.S. stands ready to provide long-term partnership grounded in stability and expertise.
“The United States is committed to being a trusted partner of choice, providing not just the goods and services, but the expertise, innovation, and reliability that underpin long-term development,” McKinney stated.
He noted that Guyana has become a standout example of modern energy development, supported by strong governance and strategic leadership under Dr Irfaan Ali.
“Guyana is a highlight in these efforts, and a country with whom we are already partnering closely,” he said, adding that the country’s approach reflects “a commitment to transparent governance, strong collaboration with global operators, and a clear focus on long-term national development.”
McKinney also pointed to the scale of Guyana’s offshore oil discoveries, describing them as among the most significant globally, while emphasising that the partnership goes beyond resource extraction.
“For U.S. companies and international investors, our partnership is not just a resource play, it is a model for responsible energy development,” McKinney said.
