Body of pilot recovered in ASL Cessna crash

Dead: Captain Ryder Castillo

The body of the pilot has been recovered following the crash of an Air Services Limited Cessna 208 aircraft, registration 8R-YAC.

The Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC) confirmed that members of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) Special Forces successfully reached the crash site and retrieved the remains.

Preparations are currently underway for extraction from the site.
The Ministry of Public Utilities and Aviation, the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), and the Guyana Defence Force have extended heartfelt sympathies to the family and loved ones of the deceased pilot.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
