A 21-year-old construction worker from the Corentyne has been charged with two counts of robbery under arms following a police investigation into a series of armed robberies that recently shook the Rose Hall Town area.
Steve Anthony Tsoi, called “Timmy,” of Lot 9 Alness Village, Corentyne, Berbice, was arrested on March 3, 2026, and later charged the same day with two counts of robbery under arms committed against Stephen Ramsingh, Petal Sabsoop, and Gurudat Sudhai. The offences reportedly occurred in Rose Hall Town, Corentyne, between February 23 and February 28, 2026.
The charges were instituted under Section 222(c) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01, Laws of Guyana.
Tsoi appeared on March 6, 2026, at the Albion Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate M. Mathias, where the charges were read to him.
He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of $100,000 for each offence.
The matter was adjourned to March 20, 2026.
However, despite being granted bail on the two charges, Tsoi remains in police custody as investigators prepare to institute additional charges on Monday, March 9, 2026.
These include robbery under arms, possession of a firearm, and possession of ammunition.
