GDF, GPF storm toward Elite League Cup semi-finals

In a thrilling night of football, the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) and the Guyana Police Force (GPF) football clubs have all but secured their advancement to the semi-finals of the Elite League Cup.

Both teams showcased their prowess at the Guyana Football Federation’s National Training Centre, competing fiercely to strengthen their positions ahead of the upcoming matches scheduled for Tuesday.

The GPF Football Club delivered a stunning performance against Santos FC, cruising to a decisive 6–0 victory that solidified their lead in Group B, while the GDF also made a strong statement with a commanding 5–1 win over Western Tigers, the reigning Super 16 Champions.

The Elite League Cup continues this Saturday with a critical clash between Slingerz FC and Monedderlust FC. The tournament champion will walk away with a grand prize of $1,000,000, with substantial rewards also set aside for the runners-up.
