In a groundbreaking development for Guyana, Cristy Campbell, the dynamic President of the Guyana Tennis Association (GTA), has been appointed to the prestigious International Tennis Federation’s (ITF) Advantage All Committee for the 2026–2027 term. This remarkable achievement places Guyana on the global tennis stage and highlights Campbell’s influence in sports leadership and advocacy.
A former national women’s champion, Campbell has been a steadfast advocate for the development of tennis in Guyana, working tirelessly to elevate the sport. Beyond her role at the GTA, she also serves as Vice President of the Guyana Olympic Association and Vice Chairperson of the National Sports Commission.
The ITF Advantage All Committee is dedicated to advancing gender equality in tennis, advising the ITF Board on policies aimed at expanding opportunities for women and girls across all aspects of the sport. Chaired by Salma Mouelhi-Guizani of Tunisia, the committee comprises representatives from around the world, with Campbell proudly representing Guyana.
The committee’s responsibilities include shaping the ITF Advantage All strategy, addressing gender inequality, and promoting sport as a tool for empowerment. It also monitors progress among member nations in advancing gender equality and supports innovative initiatives designed to uplift women in tennis.
