Police say no halt to vehicle tint enforcement

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) on Friday denied online claims that it had been directed to halt all motor-vehicle window tint enforcement operations, calling the reports “unfounded.”

“No such directive has been issued at any level of command,” the Force said in a statement, emphasising that all members of the public are required to comply with laws regulating vehicle window tint under the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act.

The GPF warned that circulating unverified information could mislead citizens, undermine public confidence, and disrupt lawful law-enforcement operations. Officers have been instructed to continue enforcing all relevant provisions in line with established protocols.

The police urged the public to rely solely on official communication channels for accurate information.
