Education in Region Two is undergoing a significant transformation as secondary school students have begun registering for the Guyana Digital School, a national initiative championed by His Excellency, President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali.
The regional rollout was spearheaded by Dr. Ritesh Tularam, Deputy Chief Education Officer (Technical), who has been influential in integrating technology and artificial intelligence into the modern education sector. Dr. Tularam has championed the integration of technology and artificial intelligence in classrooms, ensuring the Digital School becomes a core part of Guyana’s 21st-century learning vision.
Over the past week, Dr. Tularam and his technical team visited several secondary schools across Region Two to facilitate registration.
Students were guided through the process and introduced to the platform’s features, including high-quality video lessons, interactive learning tools, and CSEC-focused resources designed to help them master challenging subjects.
The Ministry of Education reports an immediate positive impact. Teachers and administrators are observing that students are more engaged, more confident, and more motivated. Many students have shared that the Digital School is helping them understand topics that once felt overwhelming, giving them renewed hope and direction in their academic journey.
The initiative is central to the Ministry of Education’s commitment to equity, access, and innovation, ensuring that no student is left behind, regardless of their location.
Dr. Tularam expressed strong confidence in the initiative.
“The Digital School is more than a platform — it is a promise to every child in Guyana. A promise that no student will be left behind, and that high-quality learning will reach every corner of our nation. Region Two has embraced this vision with tremendous energy, and I am proud of the commitment shown by our students and teachers.”
Regional Education Officer Ms. Shondelle Hercules echoed this enthusiasm.

“This initiative marks a new era for education in Region Two. Our students are excited, better prepared, and more hopeful. The Digital School opens doors to real opportunity and improved performance. We commend Dr. Tularam and his team for bringing this vision to life.”
Teachers across the region have also shared positive feedback, crediting the programme with improving student participation and making learning more accessible and enjoyable.
Region Two has extended its appreciation to Dr. Ritesh Tularam and the Ministry of Education’s technical team for their leadership during the rollout.
