Fire ravaged Mae’s Schools

A massive fire this morning ravaged Mae’s Schools in Subryanville, Georgetown. Billowing smoke from the blaze was visible from a great distance.
Fortunately, all students and teachers were safely evacuated. At the scene, students, teachers, and onlookers stood on the streets, watching as firefighters worked to extinguish the flames.
Education Minister Priya Manickchand was also present. She described the situation as “very sad,” highlighting Mae’s significant contributions to the country, both academically and in other spheres of life.
She stated that the Ministry of Education will be making arrangements to place students who are preparing to sit the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) and the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations.
