The Guyana Police Force (GPF) intensified its holiday safety campaign on Thursday, November 20, 2025, as ranks of Regional Division 4 ‘C’ conducted community outreach activities across several East Coast Demerara communities.
Teams led by Inspectors Abraham, Hillman, Poyer, Angoy, and Singh visited Annandale, Enterprise, Enmore, St. Cuthbert’s Mission, and Mon Repos, where they engaged residents and business owners on crime-prevention strategies and general safety concerns.
With the Christmas season approaching—a period that typically sees increased criminal activity—officers urged citizens to remain alert, report suspicious behaviour, and strengthen their home and business security systems.
They also encouraged the installation or upgrading of surveillance cameras as an added protective measure.
Safety tips were shared, and contact information was exchanged to ensure direct and efficient communication with police ranks.

Residents welcomed the exercise, noting that the outreach “reinforced their confidence and trust in the ranks and by extension the Guyana Police Force.”
Thursday’s activity comes as the GPF continues to roll out its nationwide holiday security plan.
Earlier this week, Regional Police Division #3 launched its 2025 Christmas Policing Plan at the Division’s Headquarters in Leonora, West Coast Demerara.
The plan was presented on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, by Divisional Commander Assistant Commissioner M. Siwnarine and brings together Community Policing Groups, Station Management Committees, religious representatives, key stakeholders, and ranks at all levels.
Commander Siwnarine noted that the initiative aims to provide visible and responsive policing throughout the festive period. “Citizens can expect to see increased foot and mobile patrols, increased traffic engagements, intelligence-led police operations, monitoring of commercial zones, and rapid response to reports,” he said.
The 2025 Christmas policing programme officially commenced on November 15, 2025, and will continue until January 15, 2026.
The GPF says the strategy is intended to deter crime, enhance road safety, and maintain public confidence during the holiday season.
