The first-ever Orealla & Siparuta Safari was officially launched on Thursday by the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, through the Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA), in partnership with Rainforest Tours.
Scheduled for November 14–16, the new expedition promises an unforgettable off-road adventure deep into Guyana’s heartland, offering participants a fully immersive cultural and natural experience.
Following the Orealla & Siparuta Safari, the South Rupununi Savannah Safari will take place from November 25–30, giving both locals and visitors the opportunity to explore Guyana’s breathtaking hinterland and experience its rich Indigenous traditions.
Both safaris are part of efforts to showcase Guyana’s expanding eco- and adventure tourism offerings while promoting sustainable development in hinterland communities.
Delivering the feature address at the launch, Tourism, Industry and Commerce Minister, Susan Rodrigues emphasised the growing role of tourism in driving economic diversification. She reaffirmed the GTA’s commitment to supporting Indigenous tourism development through tour guiding, craft sales, and cultural experiences.

The minister also congratulated Rainforest Tours on pioneering the Orealla Safari and extended best wishes to all participants, noting that initiatives like these connect people, culture, and nature while generating meaningful income for local residents.
