Minister Parag leads breast cancer awareness walk in Region Three

At sunrise yesterday morning, Minister of Education, Hon. Sonia Parag, joined residents of Region Three for a Breast Cancer Awareness walk aimed at promoting early detection and health consciousness among citizens.

The walk, which included youths and members of Recover Guyana, began at the Leonora Market and concluded with a symbolic tree-decorating exercise along the Leonora concrete strip.

During the event, Minister Parag underscored the importance of regular screening, noting that early detection can save lives. She encouraged participants to make use of the free and heavily subsidized medical services available, including mammograms and screening for the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), describing these as vital, lifesaving initiatives under the leadership of President Dr. Irfaan Ali.

Minister Parag was accompanied by the newly appointed Vice Chairwoman of Region Three, Ms. Anjani Seebaran.
